What is a Flat Base Pattern?

Flat base is a term from stock or forex trading. A Flat Base is characterized by small daily trading ranges with volume being lower than normal – the chart looks flat. The longer a stock remains in a Flat Base, the greater the gain usually is when the stock breaks out positively.
